The City of North Las Vegas, in cooperation with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC), have been working to develop plans to improve North 5th Street between Owens Avenue and the Northern Beltway (CC-215), a distance of approximately seven miles.
The goal of the North 5th Street Improvements Project is to provide an enhanced north-south transportation corridor along North 5th Street in the City of North Las Vegas. The Project limits are between Owens Avenue and Cheyenne Avenue and will evaluate ways to:
This effort will be completed in multiple phases between Owens Avenue and Cheyenne Avenue, which will include widening North 5th Street to 150 feet, converting North 5th Street into a major arterial and constructing bridges over I-15, the Union Pacific Railroad and Losee Road. The improvements are also intended to promote pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods and provide improved transit service and facilities.
